Twin Tech Motorcycles, owned and operated by Richard (Rick), opened its doors for business in 1989 as a small part-time operation specializing in Harley Davidson service and repairs at Labrador on Queensland's sunny Gold Coast.
As the Harley phenomenon powered through the early nineties a young dynamic Twin Tech went with it, outgrowing the Labrador premises and relocating to Southport in 1991 gaining much needed space as well as presenting a professional image to local riders - who were quick to recognize the quality workmanship and excellent value that the shop was becoming widely known for.
1995 rolled around with no abatement of the Harley juggernaut and again Twin Tech expanded. This time via the acquisition of the two adjoining factories, garnering the much needed room for not only the service department, but also the steadily growing parts and accessories division.
A dyno tuning facility was operated from the premises until being moved to Nerang, QLD, in 2000 allowing the creation of a dedicated showroom to best display the now extensive stocks of top quality components being made available from some of the biggest names in the after-market. Brands such as Custom Chrome , S&S , Zodiac , Kuryakyn and Vance & Hines .
Geoff came on board in 1999 following a strategic alliance between Twin Tech Motorcycles and Roadhog Custom Cycles. He is responsible for the day to day logistics as well as controlling the parts and accessories .
Geoff brings with him an extensive motorcycle history of almost 30 years, thus freeing some of Richard's time to allow him to indulge in his passion: - meeting the ever increasing demand of building one-off custom bikes - which range from mild to wild!
These rolling examples of artistry in iron have won shows, been cover page bikes in the specialists press, all whilst clocking up miles and drawing kudos for not only their good looks and quality of craftsmanship. But ultimately their practicality and "ride ability". This continuing quest for excellence culminated in John West of Live to Ride magazine awarding Richard the title of "Custom Bike Builder of the Decade." High praise indeed considering the quality of competition in this highly specialised area of the motorcycle market.
The extensively equipped service department now boasts two vastly experienced, highly qualified technicians capable of performing a wide variety of mechanical magic. Ranging from basic fixed priced services to specialised performance tuning and problem solving. With their "happy to help" and can-do attitudes, Rick and Ross will keep your Milwaukee flywheels turning for years to come.
